Ram Kumar
(1924–2018)

Ram Kumar was a prominent Indian modern artist known for his abstract landscapes. He was associated with the Progressive Artists' Group (PAG) along with other renowned artists like M.F. Husain and S.H. Raza. Kumar's works often depicted the essence of nature and the human condition through a unique abstract style characterized by bold colors and geometric shapes.

S.H Raza
(1922 - 2016)

Sayed Haider Raza was one of the founding members of the Progressive Artists' Group in India (PAG). A renowned Indian artist known for his abstract paintings that often featured vibrant colors and geometric shapes. He attached high significance to the 'Bindu', featuring it in many of his works. 'Bindu' means dot or point in Sanskrit. Raza's art often reflected his deep spiritual beliefs and his fascination with Indian philosophy and metaphysics. His paintings gained recognition in both India and abroad, particularly in France.

M.F Hussain
(1915 - 2011)

He was one of the most celebrated and internationally recognized Indian artists of the 20th century. His full name was Maqbool Fida Hussain - horses were a popular theme in many of his paintings. His work was also inspired by themes from Indian mythology, history and culture. He remained a highly influential figure in the Indian art world until he passed away in 2011.

Vasudeo S. Gaitonde
(1924 – 2001)
A well known Indian artist Vasudeo S. Gaitonde remained connected, to the Progressive Artists’ Group (PAG) despite, maintaining his distinctly different style when it came to painting. His contributions to Indian modern art, particularly in the realm of abstraction, have been widely celebrated. The PAG included other distinguished Indian artists like F.N. Souza, M.F. Husain, and S.H. Raza. This artist continues to be an inspiration to upcoming        and professional artists today. His works underline the importance of developing a unique style that,      can exist in harmony with an art form. 

Jamini Roy
(1887 - 1972)

Combining elements of traditional Indian folk art with modernist techniques, Jamini Roy went on to become an influential Indian artist, both in India and internationally. Initially trained as an artist he later rejected the academic style in favor of a more, simplistic and folk-inspired approach. Roy's style was characterized by bold lines, flat colors, and a focus on indigenous themes and motifs. His unique style inspired many budding artists to try their own forms and create some unique paintings.

Manjit Bawa
(1941 – 2008)

Manjit Bawa was an Indian painter known for his vibrant and mystical artworks. He was associated with the Neo-Tantra movement and often depicted themes from Indian mythology and folklore. Bawa's paintings are celebrated for their poetic and meditative qualities, reflecting his deep reverence for nature and spirituality.
